Tome KitaguchiSeptember 6, 1929 ~ November 9, 2017 (age 88)
Tome Kitaguchi, 88, passed away peacefully, on Thursday November 9, 2017 at Hospice of the Chesapeake in Pasadena, Maryland. Tome (also known as Tom) suffered from bone marrow cancer and pneumonia. Tom was born to parents Ume Fujishige Kitaguchi and Gitaro Kitaguchi in 1929 in Lompoc, California and lived with 6 siblings. Tom was a gifted and intelligent individual. Tom graduated with top honors from Valparaiso Technical Institute and served in the military while attending college. Tom married Peggy Jane Tatum and had 4 children, Joel, Teresa, Allan and David. Tom was preceded in death by his wife Peggy and child David. He was a retired electrical engineer working for Lockheed Martin, and Bunker Ramo. He performed military services as a US Army Sargent during the Korean War and received UN commendations. Tom remained active throughout his life. Tom was an electrical consultant for the Washington Metro System and for George Mason University for special projects in his mid 80's. Tom traveled various parts of he world visiting Saudi Arabia, Eqypt, Japan, South Korea, Canada and Mexico. In retirement, he continued to work and enjoyed walking 2-3 miles per day. Tom also enjoyed fishing, bowling, home renovation projects and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Tom also helped provide tuition money for several of his grandchildren to assist their college education.
Family and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated McCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road (PASADENA) on Wednesday November 15, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Where a funeral will be held on Thursday November 16, 2017 at 10 AM. Interment Crownsville Veteran Cemetery.
