Herbert William Letmate, Jr., 25-year resident of Pasadena, formerly of Glen Burnie passed peacefully on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Hospice Center of the Chesapeake.
Mr. Letmate was born on May 8, 1955, in Baltimore, MD to Dorothy Letmate (nee Frazier) and the late Herbert William Letmate, Sr. He served as an employee of Baltimore Gas & Electric Company from his early 20’s through to his retirement. Herb loved many things but a good cookout, particularly if there were horseshoes, good music and good company was always at the top of his list. Over the years Mr. Letmate spent his leisure time participating in several sports and recreational activities including softball, pool leagues, and dart leagues. Following his retirement, he enjoyed lending a hand to anyone that seemed to need it. Above all else Herb enjoyed spending time with family and friends. A true believer in living each day to the fullest and appreciating the blessings that life had given him, he could be found most evenings watching the sunset over the water from his deck, a cold beer in his hand.
In addition to his father, Mr. Letmate was preceded in death by his long-time partner of 24 years, Cheryl Ann Mattingly.
He is survived by his mother Dorothy Letmate, daughter Nichole Birch and her husband James of Pasadena; 1 brother Michael Letmate of Linthicum; stepdaughter Allison Mattingly and Husband Allen of Baltimore; 10 grandchildren, Jordan, Tyler and Gavin Bruns, Paige Kirby, James Birch Jr, Dylan Birch, Alex Fisk and wife Taylor, Danielle and Delanie Embro and Tanna Kunst; and 4 great grandchildren, Brynleigh Bruns, Harper Fisk, Kaden Downs, and Emma Kunst.
Friends and Family may pay their respects on Tuesday, November 22nd from 4:00-5:30pm, at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road Pasadena, MD 21122. Memorial service to begin at 5:30pm.
