Algird Barskis
March 5, 1933 — June 16, 2016
Algird R. Barskis (aka The Mermaidman) of Severna Park, MD passed away on Thursday, June 16 at his home. Al was born March 5, 1933 in Lithuania to the late Simonis and Hedwig Barbarskis. After receiving his degrees at LaSalle and Temple Universities in Philadelphia, he worked for The Franklin Institute before moving to Maryland. He retired from Northrop Grumman in 1999.
Al enjoyed wood carving, antiquing, catching crabs, sailing, and working around his property. He is survived by his wife Danni, daughter Gretchen, step-children Patti Woods and David Johnson, and 5 grandchildren.
