Amelia Adorable Cruz departed her loving family October 16, 2021 after a difficult battle with lung cancer.

Amelia was born August 27, 1947 in Iloilo, Philippines to Luis and Marietta. She graduated from the University of the Philippines School of Nursing in 1968. Amelia was mother to Amgelene Akbari (husband Robert), Rosemary Harwood (husband Richard), and Cathrine Bovier (husband Clint). She raised her children in love and devotion in Annapolis, MD with her husband Dr. Gelsimo Cruz.

As a nurse and office manager, she was known for her intelligence and work ethic. Her hobbies included long walks with her husband, playing the piano, gardening, and traveling the world. Amelia was a devout Catholic and will be remembered for her selfless, lighthearted, and nurturing presence.
She is survived by her grandchildren Emma, Isabel, Ian, Alex, Ryan, and Callum; her nephews Juan, Rio, and their father Raul Puertollano. She was preceded in death by her sister Marilu Puertollano.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Saturday, October 23, 2021 9:00 to 11:00 am. A funeral Mass will be held in St. John Neumann Church 620 N. Bestgate Road Annapolis, Maryland at 12 Noon. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that during these particularly difficult times, donations be made to your favorite charitable organization on her behalf.
