Anita Johnson

March 14, 1932 — January 16, 2022

Pasadena

On Sunday evening, January 16, 2022, Anita J. Johnson, also known as “Mickey,” passed away due to organ failure at the age of 89. Anita was born on March 14, 1932, in Baltimore, Maryland to John Frederick and Caroline Veronica Kirner. Anita was married to Charles Robert Johnson from February 15, 1957 until his passing on June 17, 1999. They raised three daughters, Dawn Dubiel, Donna Beaulieu, and Helene Bean, and one son, the late Bruce Johnson. Anita prioritized her role as a mother and felt it was her purpose in life ever since bonding with her nephew, Ricky. She was accepting and patient with her children, embracing their individuality.

Anita was known for her nonjudgmental views of others and her calm, gentle nature. She was well-loved and respected. Her loved ones never heard anyone say a negative thing about her.

Anita loved watching game shows and golf on television. She was also an avid football fan, cheering on the Ravens and Navy. She loved solitaire and notably spent downtime playing it on her handheld game. She enjoyed her morning cup of coffee and home-cooked dinners. She always took care to look her best by dressing stylishly with matching shoes and purses. However, she was extremely humble and far from vain.

Anita wasn’t one to openly show emotion, but she expressed her deep appreciation and love for her family. She had a strong faith in the Lord that never wavered. She would never argue unless it was to defend her faith. Her loved ones are left with no shortage of stories and memories to keep her memory alive. Anita is now with her parents, siblings, husband, and son in heaven.
