Antoinette Terranova Keane of Dundalk, Maryland, passed away on December 29, 2025. She was 66. Born on May 12, 1959, in Baltimore, Toni graduated from Patapsco High School in 1977. She was the beloved wife of John, devoted mother of Katie, and cherished sister of Vincent and Michael.
Toni will be remembered for her distinct and unforgettable laugh, so infectious and loud it could be heard across a crowded restaurant, and for the warmth she brought wherever she went. She had a way of lifting people up with just a few words, always noticing the good in someone and sharing it, making everyone around her feel a little brighter. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her home into her garden, where she took great pride in growing vibrant herbs and vegetables, always using them in her home-cooked meals. She showed her love through cooking and baking for family and friends and was famous for her sauce and meatballs—a recipe handed down by her mother, Mary. Always the first dessert to vanish at any gathering, her coconut cake was a secret recipe that became a beloved mystery everyone tried to solve.
A lifelong lover of sports, Toni was an avid LSU and Baltimore Orioles fan. She never missed her favorite teams playing on TV, but if she did, she would record the games to watch later (begging John and Katie not to tell her who won). Her love for sports began while working under Bob Scott in the Johns Hopkins University Athletic Department in the late 1970’s. She frequently shared stories and memories from that time, especially about taking her younger brother Michael to Hopkins games. Her love for Hopkins rubbed off on John and Katie, and the three of them spent nearly 30 years enjoying lacrosse games together at Homewood Field.
Toni dedicated over ten years working as the bookkeeper at St. Jane Frances Church and School and volunteered every Friday in the cafeteria, where she became affectionately known as everyone’s favorite “pizza lady.” She generously gave her time to the St. Patrick’s Day bazaar and other school and parish events, always happy to help wherever she was needed. Deeply committed to her faith, Toni continued her service as a member of the Sanctuary Society for eight years, volunteering faithfully until her passing.
To her daughter, Toni was a constant source of unconditional love, encouragement, and humor. She was always ready to listen, tell a story that seemed to go on forever, serve a giant bowl of spaghetti and meatballs, or exclaim an excited “Jeeez-uhhh mah-netti!!!” that never failed to make everyone around her laugh. More than anything, she loved visiting Katie in New Orleans with John, searching for the best happy hour oysters and crossing off new restaurants on her bucket list. She was so proud of the life Katie built there and loved getting to know her friends, eager to share her legendary stories about the good ole’ days – her favorites always included her mom. Toni quickly became everyone’s favorite person, and they hated to say goodbye when their trip came to an end.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, John; her daughter, Katie; her brothers, Vincent (Cindy) and Michael (Dianne); and her many loving nieces and nephews: Gavin (Meghan), Darcie, Jen (Jason), Jesse (Liz), Sean (Ariana), Victor, and Alex; great grandniece Grace, and grandnephew Tommy, and many more extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orlando Terranova and Mary Goschen, her brother Victor, and her grandparents.
Her presence will be deeply missed, but her love, laughter, and traditions will live on through everyone she touched, in the memories we hold close and the small, meaningful moments that will always remind us of her.
Her life was celebrated with close family and friends, filled with stories, laughter, and ice-cold beer — just as she would have wanted.
