Arcadio “Caddie” Eborde Manalo, beloved husband of the late Beverly Ann Manalo, passed away on October 14, 2025. He was born on May 6, 1934, in Manila, Philippines.
In January 1959, Caddie enlisted in the United States Coast Guard out of Sangley Point, Philippines. He proudly made a career of his military service and retired on February 1, 1979, as SS1, Substance Specialist, Petty Officer First Class, after 20 years of dedication and commitment.
On January 18, 1969, Caddie married the love of his life, best friend, and soulmate, Beverly Ann. They shared 51 wonderful years of marriage until her passing in 2020.
After retiring from the Coast Guard, Caddie continued working in several positions. His first job after retirement was as a cook at CKS Restaurant at Baltimore-Washington International Airport. When the restaurant closed in the late 1990s, he went on to work at the United States Naval Academy in King Hall, where he remained until around 2012. When his beloved wife became ill, Caddie devoted himself fully to caring for her until her passing.
Caddie was the beloved stepfather of Cynthia Dougherty and her husband, James Dougherty Sr., and of Brian Brack. He was a cherished grandfather to Melissa Brack, James Michael Dougherty Jr. and his wife Brittany, Joseph Dougherty, and the late Rebecca Michele Dougherty, and a proud great-grandfather to James Michael Dougherty III and Madilyn Rebecca Dougherty.
He is lovingly remembered by his niece and goddaughter, Patricia Volkman, who cared for him, along with Sydney Bell and Brennen Volkman, and many other family members and friends who will deeply miss him.
Caddie also had a love for the simple joys in life. He enjoyed gardening, spending time outdoors tending to his plants, and had a fondness for scratch-offs and Keno. He loved cooking for family and friends, especially his famous pancit and egg rolls. He was a devoted fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens, always enjoying a good game with friends and family.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Caddie’s life on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at McCully Polyniak & Collins Funeral Home, 3204 Mountain Road, Pasadena, Maryland.
