Arthur William Burke "Bill", born on October 26, 1931, left us on January 2, 2026, after a life rich with experiences, memories, and love. He was a cherished son, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to many who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey spanned nearly nine decades, during which he became a pillar of strength for his family and community.
Arthur spent an impressive 40 years as a mold maker at Maryland Glass and later contributed his skills as a maintenance technician at Sherwin Williams. His dedication to his work demonstrated his outstanding craftsmanship and work ethic, qualities he instilled in those around him.
Beyond his professional life, Arthur proudly served in the United States Army, a chapter in his life that shaped his character and sense of duty. He carried the values of resilience and determination throughout his daily existence, inspiring those who knew him.
Arthur had a vibrant spirit that shone brightly in all his hobbies and interests. He found joy in the thrill of motorcycles and took to the skies as a pilot, flying helicopters to explore the world from above. His sense of adventure was matched only by his fondness for camping, where he cherished time spent in nature. A lover of animals, he doted on his dogs and cats, filling his home with their unconditional love.
Arthur also enjoyed expressing himself on the dance floor, showing that he had a zest for life and a love for fun. His commitment to health and fitness led him to frequent L.A. Fitness, where he inspired those around him with his dedication to staying active.
He leaves behind a family who adored him: Kimberly Reider, Gregory Reider, Patrick Cox and Julie Cox, Nancy Benny, Mark Benny, Alexander Reider, Maddison Reider, Miranda Cox, Colby Cox, Christopher Cox, Nicholas Cox, Crystal Cox, and Sarah and Chuck Benny.
Though Arthur has departed from our midst, his presence will forever be felt in the stories shared and the memories cherished. He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Judith Cox Burke, whose love illuminated his life. Their legacy of love and family will continue to thrive through those who remain.
Arthur William Burke will be remembered not only for his accomplishments and adventures but for the way he touched the lives of everyone he met. His kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering support will live on in the hearts of his family members and friends. They take solace in the knowledge that he is now at peace, eternally loved and cherished.
Family and friends are invited to visit the family owned and operated McCully Polyniak & Collins Funeral Home, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road Pasadena, Maryland 21122 on January 11, 2026 and January 12, 2026 from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held on January 15, 2026 at 1 PM at the funeral home with burial and military honors to follow at Crownsville Veteran Cemetery.
