Benjamin T Hartland, IV

November 5, 1971 — October 13, 2023

Benjamin Thomas Hartland IV was born on November 5, 1971, to Benjamin Thomas Hartland III and Janice Felice Hartland (nee Smith). He lived in Pasadena, MD for most of his life and was a graduate of Chesapeake High School. He was preceded in death by his father Benjamin III and daughter Jennie Rose. Bennie is survived by his beloved mother, son Benjamin V and wife Allison, grandson Benjamin VI, Aunt Dale Jeffries and dear friend John Hamrick.

Bennie was known for his ability to make people laugh and find himself the center of attention. Through this and his love of throwing Fourth of July parties he managed to make many lifelong friendships that lasted through thick and thin. And avid outdoorsman, he was always in the woods or on the water whenever possible. Whether it be through fishing, hunting or crabbing, Bennie was always able to find peace and happiness doing what he loved best.

He loved sports especially the Niners in his youth and the Ravens once they came to town in 1996. If you ever came over the house, he could usually be found watching either a football game, the history channel, Supernatural or Married with children, usually eating pizza and chocolate milk as he was a man of simple tastes. If you caught him outside you might find him tinkering in the garage listening to rock or country music or perhaps playing in the yard with his grandson.

Fourth of July was by far his most favorite holiday. It was an opportunity to see friends and family and most importantly do what he did best, entertain. Most years that would be followed up by a trip to Ocean city with Mom to enjoy the waves and some Dolles Fudge. Bennie will be truly missed by all the friends and family who loved him and most certainly remembered by all who met him.
