Bruce Ted Collins

April 22, 1939 — June 3, 2026

Bruce Ted Collins, age 87, of Pasadena, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home and went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

He was born April 22,1939, in Benhams, Virginia to the late Edward and Finnie Collins. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Jackie Collins who beautifully cared for him at home until his last breath. He is also survived by daughter, Michele Owens (Matt); son, Michael Bruce Collins; and daughter, Melissa Williams (Joe). Known as Pop Pop Bruce to his beloved 7 grandchildren: Matthew Owens (Amberlea); Collin Owens (Lindsey); Cory Owens (Hannah); Alex Collins; Sarah Collins; Drew Williams (Sloane); Riley Williams (Mia); and his 5 great grandchildren children: Haley Brooke Owens, Reid Bruce Owens, Alexis Semmont, Memphis Joy Owens and Judah Mathis Owens. Bruce was preceded in death by two infant sons, Timothy Bruce Collins and Bruce Ted Collins, Jr. and his siblings, Geneva Collins, Fred Collins, Marie Fleenor, Irene McCracken, Grady Collins and Ackie Barker. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Bruce proudly served his country in the United States Army for 2 years. For several years, he worked for a mobile home dealership, delivering, setting up and servicing mobile homes. In 1979, he started his own successful business, Bruce’s Mobile Home Service, working primarily building decks in the later years of his career. Bruce was a skilled carpenter and could build or fix just about anything. He particularly enjoyed the outdoors. He loved seeking out treasures at the flea market and garage sales he frequented. He took great pride in his annual huge backyard vegetable garden and loved sharing his yield with family and friends. Fishing trips and breakfasts with his dear friend Don Foley brought him much joy. His greatest passions were fishing, crabbing, hunting, watching sports, and most of all, spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at McCully Polyniak & Collins Funeral Home, P.A., 3204 Mountain Rd, Pasadena, Maryland 21122. Friends may visit starting at 2 pm until the service begins at 4pm.

Bruce will be interred at The Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD at a later date.
