Carl Mckenzie

Carl Leo McKenzie, a longtime resident of Pasadena, passed away suddenly on January 9, 2022 at the age of 79, at Baltimore/Washington Medical Center. Beloved husband to Ethelyn Mckenzie, his wife of 58 years; devoted father to 2 children, 3 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.

He is survived by his wife Ethelyn McKenzie, his son Carl McKenzie Jr. and his wife Sheryl McKenzie, his daughter Sharon McKenzie and her partner Jane Irwin: 3 grandchildren, Devynn McKenzie-Neary, Sarah Creed and Coale McKenzie: and 1 Great grandchild Ewan Neary. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl I McKenzie and Dorothy McKenzie; 2 sisters Betty Perkins and Linda Nash.

Carl was born in Westport, Baltimore, attended Southern High School and married his High School sweetheart. Carl worked his way up in Baltimore Gas and Electric Company and retired as a supervisor. As a younger man, Carl was an outdoorsman; he loved to hunt, fish, spend time on his boat, and take his black lab “Cricket” for long walks. Later in life Carl battled health issues that caused him to stay close to home, but he still enjoyed watching game shows old western movies and had fun shopping on QVC. He loved going in his man cave to listen to country music, Neil Diamond and have an occasional Budweiser. Carl was a great provider, husband, father, and grandfather. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, 3 -5 and 7 - 9 pm. Where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 am. Entombment Loudon Park Cemetery at 12 noon. Please arrive no later than 11:45am
