1945 Dottie 2024

Dottie H Speath

February 8, 1945 — March 4, 2024

Dottie Harris was born in Leesville, South Carolina to the proud parents of “the late” Leon (Son) Crusau and Mary Hair Harris on February 8, 1945. She was the fourth of six children (two of which have passed). Dottie accepted Jesus Christ at a young age at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Leesville, South Carolina.

Dottie attended Twin City High School in South Carolina, where she was an avid learner.

She later moved to New York City to join her two eldest siblings for better work opportunities.

Dottie met and was smitten by her husband Richard T. Speath. They were married on April 28, 1979, for forty-four plus years.

She moved and resided in Maryland with her husband Richard, and they built a strong foundation together.

She worked diligently within the Trucking Industries/Logistics for 50+ years. Dottie had exceptional work ethic and always took pride in a job well done.

In spite of Dottie’s illness, she continued to stay connected to God and she was adamant about not missing live stream worship services every Sunday and during the week. Dottie’s faith in God was evident.

Dottie was a sweet, sweet soul and she transitioned peacefully.

Dottie H. Speath touched many lives, is dearly loved, and she will be dearly missed. She leaves to mourn her passing, her loving husband, Richard T. Speath of Hanover, Maryland, two brothers, David E. Harris and Joseph C. Harris of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina, one sister Rev. Dorothy H. Caldwell (Bennie) of Columbia, South Carolina, her niece/goddaughter Sarah Maria Campbell (Colin) of Queens, New York, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives and friends, all of whom she dearly loved.
