Sebelia Lilly
December 16, 1939 – November 7, 2026
Edith Sebelia Lilly went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 7, 2026. Her life was a testament to a faith deeply rooted in Christ, a heart devoted to serving the Lord, and a love for her family that knew no bounds.
Edith above all else wants to be remembered as a good and faithful servant of the Lord. Her greatest devotion was to Jesus, and throughout her life she sought to walk in His footsteps, serve His people, and live with her eyes fixed on the promise of eternity.
She was the adored wife of 71 years and 8 months to her beloved husband, Dolphus “Doc” Lilly. She took great pride in their remarkable marriage and never missed an opportunity to share just how many years they had spent together.
She was a loving mother to her daughter, Kimberly, and son-in-law, Robert Erwin. Becoming a mother was one of the greatest joys of her life, and she considered her daughter among God’s most precious blessings.
She was a cherished grandmother to Ashton and Scott Trochimowicz and Erica and Erik Ilustre, and a proud great-grandmother to Christian and Cohen Trochimowicz. Blessed to share a multigenerational home, Edith treasured the special bond she shared with her granddaughters and the immeasurable joy her great-grandsons brought into her life. The love she had for them was unmistakable.
Her family extended beyond those with two legs. Her 6 beloved granddogs, Aspen, Pugsley, Niklaus, Ferguson, and Bianca “BB” all held their own special places in her heart.
While her family was her earthly treasure, her faith was her foundation.
A devoted member of Chesapeake Christian Center in Pasadena, Edith was much more than a churchgoer. She was a prayer warrior, Sunday school teacher, faithful servant, and dear friend to her church family. Her love for the Lord was not simply something she spoke about; it was something she lived. Her prayers, her service, her fellowship, and her unwavering faith were woven into the very fabric of who she was. Her church was an extension of her family, and serving the Lord was among her greatest joys.
Edith’s life was one of faith, devotion, prayer, and love. She leaves behind a legacy not measured by earthly accomplishments, but by the lives she touched, the prayers she prayed, the generations she loved, and the faith she faithfully carried throughout her days.
She spent her life looking toward Heaven. Now, the promise she held so dearly has become her eternal home.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23
