Eddie William Reitz, Jr

Edward William Reitz Jr, affectionately known as Eddie, passed away suddenly on March 10th, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Eddie was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Kimberly Reitz, and the very best father to his daughters Zoie Rosemary and Kylie Sophia Reitz. Eddie was a loving son to his late father, Edward W. Reitz Sr and his dear mother, Rosemary Mechlinski, and husband Jim. He was a loving brother to Nicholas (Lauren) Reitz, Erica Reitz, the late Joshua Reitz, Joe (Erica) Mechlinski, Marisa (Trey) Downes and brother-in-law to Adam (Talisa) Woron. 

He was also a cherished son-in-law to Kathy (the late Howard) Little and Larry (Denise) Woron. Stepfather to Mickey (Melissa) Brown, Holly Brown, and Trey Parrish. Beloved pop to Michael, Greyson, Asher, and Jude. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Eddie was, above all else, a fierce protector of his family and his love was limitless. He was known for his pride in his work for the International Longshoremen's Association (ILA), his sense of humor, and his zest for life. Eddie was a tremendous athlete who enjoyed playing sports and spending time with his family.  

 
Eddie had a unique taste for life. He marched to the beat of his own drum, and his heart was as big as his personality. He never quit and never gave up, even when life was hard on him. He was hard right back, and for it, he was beloved by all who knew him. 

Eddie was a warrior for his family, for love, and for life. He made anyone who crossed his path feel special. He kept everyone on their toes. And he made life more fun.

As a husband, Eddie's love for Kimberly was evident, and they shared a special bond. His devotion to being the best Dad he could be to his daughters was inspiring. Eddie had an unbreakable bond with his father and an unwavering love for his mother.

Eddie's passing has left a hole in the lives of those who knew him. His family and friends will grieve his presence in their lives to the end of their days. However, they take comfort in knowing that he is no longer in pain and is watching over them, as he always did.

Eddie's memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the family owned and operated MCCULLY POLYNIAK & COLLINS FUNERAL HOME, 3204 MOUNTIAN Road PASADENA on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 1:00 to 5:00pm. A Memorial service will be held at 3 pm.

In lieu of flowers, Eddie’s family requests donations to Kennedy Krieger Center for Autism and Related Disorders, 707 N Broadway Baltimore, MD 21205.

Interment will be private.
