Elsie L. Atkinson

Jul 20, 1925 — Jun 16, 2026

Elsie Louise Atkinson (Nee Heppding) was born on July 20, 1925, and passed peacefully into eternal rest on June 16, 2026. Elsie was welcomed into heaven by her loving parents, Louise and Henry Heppding, her beloved siblings Henry, Elizabeth, Frederick Howard, Marcy, Rene, Johnny, and Eddie, the love of her life, her husband of 59 years, Ernest C Atkinson, Sr., as well as her cherished son, Raymond and granddaughter Missy.

She is survived by her brother Gene and her five children Ernie, Johnny, Jimmy, Bobby, Donna, her 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Having lived nearly 101 years, Elsie made a lasting impact that will be felt for generations. Her home was the center of family life, where Sunday dinners of roast beef, macaroni and cheese, and corn brought everyone together. Her presence filled every room with love and comfort. Elsie enjoyed being able to care and make memories with her grandchildren while their parents worked.

She lived a full and joyful life and loved staying active. When she wasn’t out and about engaging in her hobbies: bowling, horseshoes, bingo, dinner theaters and Pokeeno, you could find her sitting with her sister Rene on the front porch listening to classic country music.

Elsie was the heart of every holiday, every celebration, and every gathering. Her legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
