Eric Jacobs

November 7, 1958 — January 8, 2019

Eric Marcellus Jacobs, better known as Ricky, transitioned from his earthly life at home on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.  He was born on November 7, 1958 to Gwendolyn Harris and Richard Jacobs in Washington, DC.

He attended elementary school in Washington, DC until 1968 and completed his grade-school education in Baltimore, MD.  He also attended the University of Maryland for a short period.

In additional to family and work, Ricky was a devoted member of the Laurel Highlands Snowmobile Club. He enjoyed snowmobiling and meeting people. He was a great photographer and won awards for his pictures. He also enjoyed summer vacations in Myrtle Beach with family every year. And you could find him grilling every Sunday, cooking for the week, and then bragging about what he prepared.

Ricky was enriched and blessed throughout his entire life by many beloved and enduring cousins, nieces and friends from Birmingham, AL; Atlanta, GA; Baltimore, MD; Pasadena, MD; Severna Park, MD; and South Carolina.

He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife, Debra Butler; his loving mother, Gwendolyn Harris; his father, Richard Jacobs; brother Michael Harris and his wife Beverly; step-brothers Derek Jacobs and Scott Jacobs; step-daughter Roslyn Crowder; niece Erica Jacobs Davis and family; and a host of family and friends, near and far.

The family gratefully acknowledges the many kind expressions of sympathy and support. Your prayers, love and concern has been a source of comfort to us.
