Frederick M. Morgan Jr., 77, of Curtis Bay, MD, passed away on July 18, 2024, surrounded by loving family.
Fred was born October 18, 1946 in Baltimore, MD, the son of Fred M. Morgan Sr. and Evelyn Stamm.
Fred graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1965. He worked proudly as a Union Ironworker out of Local #16 for 28 years. During his career he had a hand in erecting numerous bridges, buildings, and roadways. After retiring as an Iron Worker he began a second career with the City of Baltimore. First as a street lighting inspector and eventually a supervisor for Inner Harbor maintenance. During his time there he enjoyed planting flowers all over the Inner Harbor, setting up the ice skating rink at Rash Field, and especially loved plowing snow.
Fred married Catherine “Cass” Ann [Salfner] on October 21, 1967. Fred and Cass were married for over 57 loving years. Together they had two children Michelle and Mac and eventually 3 beloved granddaughters: Christina, Remi, and Rylie.
Fred especially loved the water. He and Cass shared a waterfront vacation home for over 42 years in Treasure Beach Campground in Fenwick Island, Delaware. There he enjoyed captaining countless offshore and flounder fishing trips on his Grady White fishing boats with family and friends. He served as dock master for the Chestnut Hill Cove community where he enjoyed chatting with and helping his neighbors with their own boats while taking care of the marina. For many years April was his favorite time of the year because that was when trophy striped bass season opened. Crabbing near his home and deer hunting on the Eastern Shore with his son Mac, son-in-law Chris, and friends rounded out some of his favorite things.
As time moved on, the boat was parked on Sunday afternoons to watch the Ravens play with his beloved wife at a local restaurant or at home.
Fred loved his family with his whole heart and shared that love by being present in their lives. He attended countless softball games for granddaughter Christina, as well as field hockey and lacrosse games for his granddaughters Remi and Rylie.
Remaining to cherish Fred’s memory are his loving wife, Cass; his daughter Michelle and son-in-law Chris Jordan, and granddaughter Christina Jordan. His son Mac and daughter- in -law Lori Morgan, and granddaughters Remi and Rylie Morgan. His brother Kenneth Morgan and sister-in-law Ruth. His sister Joyce Heintz and brother-in-law David. As well as, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceding Fred in death are his parents Fred Morgan Sr., Evelyn Stamm and his brother Patrick Morgan.
