Grafton "Grady" Leroy Squires

August 29, 1933 — December 24, 2025

Grafton “Grady” Leroy Squires, 92, of Pasadena, Maryland, went to be with his Heavenly Father on December 24, 2025.

Grady was born on August 29, 1933, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Leonard Squires, Sr. and Ida May Squires (née Jenkins). On October 4, 1959, he married the love of his life, Janice Ellen Horney, and together they built their family and their home in Pasadena, where they spent a lifetime making memories.

Grady worked as a machinist at Domino Sugar and Procter & Gamble. His coworkers affectionately knew his family as “The Grady Bunch.” A true Baltimore native, he loved cheering on the Orioles and the Ravens.

For more than 20 years, Grady volunteered delivering meals with Meals on Wheels in Anne Arundel County. He also loved singing in the Community United Methodist Church choir. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a dental assistant and was honorably discharged. Grady enjoyed fishing, crabbing, bowling, playing games with his family, and feeding the ducks with his grandchildren. An eternal goofball, he loved playing jokes on people, and got a great belly laugh from pranking his grandchildren—whether turning out the lights to scare them or taking extra swings during croquet games.

Grady is survived by his loving wife, Janice E. Squires; his children, Scott G. Squires and Dawn W. Godwin (née Squires), both of Pasadena, Maryland; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, all of whom adored their PopPop. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard Squires, Jr. and William Squires, and his sisters, Ethel "Sissy" King (née Squires) and Elsie Eckhart (née Squires).

Grady was a joyful man who never met a stranger. He had an infectious laugh, a resilient spirit, and treasured the family he lived to make smile. He loved his family with every ounce of his being and will be deeply missed by them.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the family owned and operated MCCULLY POLYNIAK AND COLLINS FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, 2:00 to 4:00pm.  Funeral services will begin at 4:00 pm with military honors. cremation services to follow.
