Harley Blackmon, Jr.

June 10, 1926 — September 25, 2019

Harley passed away peacefully at the Baltimore-Washington Medical Center on September 25, 2019. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years Pauline and his loving daughter Judy and great grandson Christian. He is survived by his son Ronald Blackmon and his wife Christine, loving grandfather of Michelle Jackson and her husband Chris, Shawn Black and her husband Timmy, Ronnie Blackmon and his wife Amy, Kevin Blackmon, loving great-grandfather of Aylson and Nicholas Blackmon and his nieces and nephews and also his loyal Chihuahua Waldo.

Harley was born on June 10, 2926 to Harley Dexter and Argent Blackmon of Lumberton, North Carolina. At age 17,  he joined the United States Marine Corp and was assigned to the 50th Replacement Battalion, Fifth Marine Amphibious Corps during World War II. Most of his time in the Marines was spent in the Pacific. After his discharge from the Military he met the love of his life and they married in 1950. They moved to Maryland in the mid 1950's and settled in Pasadena where they called home.

Harley enjoyed traveling and vacationing with his family to the Carolinas, visiting his family in North Carolina and going to Myrtle beach. He also enjoyed gardening, watching westerns, listening to bluegrass music, going fish frys' at his son's and sitting on the porch chewing his tobacco and talking with his family and friends. He had a kind heart and never worried about life. He loved and trusted in the Lord and encouraged other to do the same.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at which time funeral services will be held. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park Cemetery
