Herbert M. Dolch Sr., 95 yrs., passed away on Thursday evening, February 10, 2022 of congestive heart failure at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Herb Sr. was born in Baltimore and was the son of John and Bessie Dolch. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the United States Navy as a Seaman in the armed guard on the SS Carnifax Ferry (tanker) and the USS Phoenix (light cruiser class).
Herb was an avid sports fan supporting and watching the local teams (Ravens, Orioles, Capitals, Wizards, and Univ. Of Maryland). He was a long time season ticket holder of the Baltimore Colts back in the day. He coached youth baseball and competitive slow pitch softball. He was such a fan of his three sons in multiple sports, along with his grandchildren and now great grandchildren.
Herb was married 49 years to the late Mary Ann (Neenan) Dolch who passed away in 1995. Herb Sr. Is survived by his three sons. Herb Jr. and his wife Jenny, Ed Dolch and his wife Terry, Dave Dolch and his wife Kimberly. Herb Sr. Has 10 grandchildren: Stacie (Dolch) Wightman and her husband Mike; Derek Dolch; the late Jeffrey Dolch; David Dolch; Sally (Dolch) Hauer and her husband Dave; Scott Dolch and his wife Erin; Eddie Dolch and his wife Colby; and Danielle Marie Dolch and her husband Brandon Smith. Herb Sr. has 13 great grandchildren and one on the way.
Herb and his three sons want to thank Dr. Robert Moss, Dr. Charlie Cummings, Dr. Les Matthews, Dr. Russell DeLuca, and Dr. Ernest Tsao and their outstanding medical staff for their personal care over the years.
