July 14, 1948 — December 4, 2025

On December 4, 2025, Janie Beitle, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. She was married to the love of her life, Edward Beitle Jr. for 51 wonderful years. Together they built a life filled with devotion, laughter, and unwavering support. Janie was born on July 14, 1948 and was preceded in death by her parents Augustus and Marie Volandt. She was the proud mother of her daughter Tracie Jane Orvis (Darren), who preceded her in death, and the cherished step-mother of Tracey Lynn Lawton (Douglas) and Edward Beitle III (Courtney) whom she loved as her own. Janie was also the proud grandmother to Jessie and Darbie Orvis, Andrew Lawton (Megan) and Jake and Cayden Beitle, and great-grandchildren Ryan, Jack and Molly Lawton. She was the beloved sister of Albert (Mickey) Volandt (Joan), and aunt to nephew Michael Volandt, and nieces Cynthia Clements (Ralph) and Sandra Volandt (Robert Hand) as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.A natural with technology, Janie had a long and fulfilling career in the I.T. field. Her love of computers extended well beyond work—she was the go-to online shopper for the whole family, always finding the perfect gift with a click and a smile. She loved to read and do scrapbooking with friends.Janie also found joy in the simple beauty of the outdoors. She enjoyed watching the squirrels and birds come to the feeders in her backyard. She loved spending time on the Chesapeake Bay, especially boating and fishing with the people she loved most. Some of her happiest days were the many, many years she and Ed would vacation in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where you would find her in her beach chair reading many books and watching Ed fish. Her appreciation for nature was matched only by her affection for animals, especially her beloved Yorkshire Terriers, who brought her endless comfort and companionship. Family was at the center of Janie’s heart, and she treasured every moment spent together. Janie will be remembered for her warmth, her generous spirit, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. May her memory be a blessing.
