John Thomas Caines, Jr.

John Thomas Caines, Jr., beloved husband of Carole D. Caines, devoted father of Timothy Caines and his fiancée Stefani Denner, Robert Caines and his significant other Tina Magliano, loving grandfather of Allison Caines Meirick, Ryan Caines and Christian Plowman, loving great grandfather of Cooper Meirick, Blake Caines and Carson Meirick. 

Tom was born in Maryland on June 18, 1942, to his parents John and Marie Caines and he passed away peacefully at his Pasadena residence on June 2, 2026.Tom graduated from Catonsville High School in 1961. He started with Westinghouse in 1962 as a design drafter. Then in 1964 Tom took a leave from Westinghouse to serve in the United States Coast Guard for over a year before returning to Maryland and marrying Carole in 1965. He continued working for Westinghouse and Northrop Grumman Corp. and after 44 years he retired in 2006.

Tom started coaching his son's T-ball team in 1973 which led to over 50 years of coaching and community service. In the late 1980's, he got more involved in baseball and basketball at Northeast High School. After 35 years of coaching, he has two state baseball titles, one state basketball title, and honored with a basketball scholarship and JV baseball tournament in his name. His impact was felt on and off the court and field. When he was not coaching, he spent his time playing softball and basketball with countless teams and organizations. He also enjoyed traveling while playing sports to enjoy the time with his wife and family.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the family owned and operated MCCULLY POLYNIAK & COLLINS FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Thursday, June 4 and Friday June 5, 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Jane Frances Church 8499 Virginia Avenue PASADENA on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 11:00 am. Interment Lakeview Memorial Park Cemetery.
