Today we say goodbye to our beloved, father, Poppop, son, and brother, John.
He was not only a fighter in every sense of the word, but he was also fiercely loyal, a great friend and father, and anyone who knew him knew they were loved.
John faced throat cancer with courage and strength and overcame it. Sadly, the treatments that saved his life also brought complications that his body could no longer carry.
We take comfort in knowing that he is now healed and at peace, wrapped in God's loving arms.
2 Timothy 4:7
"I have fought the good fight,
I have finished the race,
I have kept the faith."
John was also an avid Ravens fan and never missed a game! If you've ever walked under the Russell Street Bridge on game day and saw an RV parked there, chances are, that was John and his family... right where he loved to be... cheering on his team!
This day, February 8th, carries even deeper meaning for our family because John now shares this date with his younger sister, Laura, who went home to be with the Lord 31 years ago, after losing her battle with melanoma. We find comfort in knowing that they are reunited again, whole and joyful, in God's presence.
John is survived by his mother, Patricia, his siblings, Paula, Harry III, Rhonda, and Jimmy, his children, son Michael and his wife Sheila, and daughter, Heather and her husband Jason, and his grandchildren, Elyssa, Michael II, Alec, Tyler, and Isaiah. And is preceded in death by his father Harry Jr., sister Laura, and adopted son/nephew Timothy.
Please keep our family in your prayers as we grieve, remember, and give thanks for the life and love John shared with us and his many, many friends.
We will miss him deeply!
