Joseph Andrew Ambrose

Joseph A. Ambrose left us peacefully while asleep to awaken in Heaven with Jesus. Son of the late William L. Ambrose and Frances R. Ambrose (Kelley). Brother to five siblings, Nancy Taylor, Frances Widerman, Catherine Schreiner and predeceased Robert Ambrose and Betty Lou Sheldon. Father to Joseph W. Ambrose (predeceased) and David B. Ambrose. Caring and attentive husband to the late Roberta I. Ambrose. Loving Stepfather to Robert J. Jackson (predeceased) and to Cynthia Nolan and her husband David Nolan. Devoted Grandfather (POP) to Jason, Jordan and Jonathan Smigovsky and Great Grandfather (OG) to Aden, Avery, Addison, Vincent, Jaxon and Jase. He was the Beloved Uncle Joe to many nieces and nephews and a friend to many. As a young man he joined the service and served our great country in the U.S. Navy.

He enjoyed sharing stories of his glory days as a dare devil iron worker on skyscrapers and as a steel worker at Bethlehem Steel Shipyard where he earned the nickname Candy due to his fun-loving personality that was such a treat and no doubt to his enduring sweet tooth. He had a zest for life and lived it with his happy go lucky attitude bringing his light heartedness, laughter and enjoyment to others.

His favorite pastime was the game of horseshoes. He was a trophied champion and always ready to throw some ringers. He also enjoyed bowling and won multiple trophies and patches.

He loved the Lord Jesus and would share the gospel with those he met. He longed for the day he would meet Jesus face to face and prayed for that day to come. So now he's in the arms of Jesus and reunited with his loved ones, who he has dearly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the family owned and operated MCCULLY POLYNIAK & COLLINS FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Thursday, May 29, 2025, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm. Where funeral services will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 12:00pm. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
