Pasadena

Joseph Michael Rossbach, 73, of Pasadena, Maryland, died April 14, 2023, at home and surrounded by his family. His passing is following a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer, which he fought with determination and courage.

He was born on December 15, 1949, to Matilda (nee Moran) and Alexander Rossbach in Baltimore, Maryland. His parents were lovingly known by the nicknames “Tilly and Rossi”. He grew up on Richardson Street in the Locust Point neighborhood of Baltimore, the youngest of six - one sister and four brothers. During his teenage years he helped his father and brothers build a home in Pasadena, where they relocated upon it’s completion.

Joseph attended Catholic school at Our Lady of Good Counsel, and later completed high school at Northeast High School. He then attended University of Maryland, Baltimore, graduating with a bachelors degree in business administration.

Joseph worked at Baltimore Gas and Electric, starting on the line crew during his early years there while he paid his way through college. He then worked as a buyer for BG&E, for the remainder of his career, lasting over thirty years.

He met his wife, Vicki (nee Rickert) in 1971. It was love at first sight and they remained constant companions for the remainder of his life. They married on June 30, 1973 - presently just shy of their 50th anniversary. Joe and Vicki settled in Pasadena where they raised their three children - Joseph, Laurie (Imhoff), and Scott.

Joe loved spending time with his family and was happiest at home   and with his loved ones. He enjoyed watching sports, beach days, and holiday traditions. He will be missed dearly.

Joseph is survived by his wife, three children and their spouses, nine grandchildren, siblings and their spouses, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother William, his sister-in-law Donna, his sister-in-law Mary, and his niece Amanda (nee Rossbach) Jackson.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 19 from 3-7pm at McCully Polyniak & Collins Funeral Home at 3204 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122.

A Requiem Mass will be held Thursday, April 20 at 2pm at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church at 8499 Virginia Avenue, Riviera Beach, MD 21122 with Father James Bors presiding.

Memorials or donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
