Juanita B Siegman

Juanita "Nita" Belle Siegman (née Cullison), 81, passed away on July 15, 2026.

Nita was born in St. Mary's County moving to Anne Arundel County with her family as a child, where she spent most of the rest of her life.

Before starting a family, she joined the Baltimore City Police Department — a role that spoke to her strength and dedication. She later built a career as a dietician in nursing homes, retiring from Ginger Cove, where she touched the lives of many residents and staff. Her devotion to family was evident starting with her mother, whom she cared for during her final years.

Nita's greatest joy was taking care of the people she loved. An amazing baker, she made sure everyone had something homemade and exceptionally delicious on their special day. When she stayed with her son Rich and daughter-in-law Ellen, she insisted on cooking dinner each night and helping with housework — her way of giving back, because that's simply who she was. She had a warmth that filled every room, and a laugh that was impossible not to love.

She is survived by her children Robert Barnes, Albert Barnes, Anita Messerschmidt, and Richard Siegman and his wife Ellen; her grandchildren Christine Horner (Matt), Halley Barnes, Paul Barnes, Charles Messerschmidt (Brittney), William Messerschmidt, Angel Lockwood (Chris), and Jessica Allen-Hoskins; six great-grandchildren; and her beloved sister Mildred Grove.

She was also grateful for the dear friends she had from Ginger Cove.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Isabel Cullison, and her brother Harold Cullison.

She was cherished, and she will be deeply missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the family owned and operated MCCULLY POLYNIAK & COLLINS FUNERAL HOME, P. A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Monday, July 20, 2026, 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 8:00 pm. A Memorial service will begin at 8:00 pm. Cremation services to follow.
