Julie Erbe

Pasadena

Julie Marie Adams Erbe, 93, passed away peacefully from Alzheimer’s disease on July 5, 2018.

Julie was born October 31,1924 to the late Anthony and Julie Handlir. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Josephine Leidner and Josephine Strejcek. Julie was also preceded in death by three husbands and one loving boyfriend, who were all veterans of WWII.

Educated at Saint Wenceslaus in Baltimore, Julie worked at Adolf’s Beauty Shop and Cvach funeral home as a hairdresser. During the wartime she worked at Martin Marietta with her sister where she wired planes for the war effort.

Julie first married John Hemmes, and they were blessed with one Daughter, Cheryl Ann. Julie later married Walter Adams in 1961. They enjoyed many years of travel to Hawaii, Jamaica, the Virgin Islands and were active members and volunteers at the VFW, American Legion, Glen Burnie Moose, and DAV Chapter 13. They loved and lived life to the fullest for 33 years.

Julie was a long-time member of the Pasadena Senior Center where she continued her volunteerism as a kitchen aid. In 2002, she met and married her third husband, Carroll Erbe.

Julie loved her pug Princess, and took walks with her everyday. She also loved Hawaii and to do the hula. She enjoyed BINGO, and frequented the VFW in Bayside Beach, where she met her late companion, Carrol Miller. A devout Catholic, she said prayers and rosary daily; her love of God was unwavering.

Julie loved her family and was very proud to tell everyone she had five generations with her. Julie is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Ann Funk, her granddaughter Kimberly Marie Funk and partner Ron Sizemore, great-grandchildren, Brian and Melody Kriewald, Brittany and Ricky Frantz and Bennett Kriewald and his girlfriend Rachel, and great-great-grandchildren Harmony, Herschel, and Olivia.
