Loemma Elizabeth (Kirkland) Jones
April 12, 1925 – August 17, 2024
On Saturday August 17th heaven received a great woman. She rested easy and took the journey home. We celebrate her joy as she is surrounded by Gods glorious presence. No doubt he told this angel “Finally, I’ve been waiting a long time for you!” She is now reunited with her parents, siblings, husband and son, as well as many other family and friends. She is survived by her cherished grandson Chuck and his wife Suzi, great-grandchildren Sophia, Nina, Cory, Isabella, Gracie, Ethan, great great-grandchildren Owen, Diego, Charlie, daughter-in-law Lois, grandchildren Eddie, Ray, Robin and their families. This amazing lady came from the hills of Tennessee, conquered the bayous of Louisiana, transplanted to Paris just after WWII before settling in Maryland.
She dedicated her life to God and her family. They say behind every strong man is a stronger woman. She created strong men. She supported her husband (decorated WWII Army Veteran, Angola prison guard and Baptist Minister), raised a successful entrepreneur son (Vietnam Vet) and Salty Siren Fishing Captain grandson. Our hearts break and we will miss her greatly and are thankful for the time God gave us with her. We love you Forever Grams!
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 214 Magothy Road Pasadena, Maryland at 2 pm.
