Margaret K. Rankin

Dec 11, 1945 — Jun 20, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Kathleen Rankin, a beloved mother, sister-in-law, aunt, friend, and dedicated advocate for others.

Born in Richwood, West Virginia, she was raised by her foster mother, whose love and guidance helped shape the compassionate and generous woman she would become. She later married the love of her life, Gary Dennis Rankin, and together they shared more than 50 years of marriage before his passing in 2024.

Throughout her life, she was known for her kindness, generosity, and willingness to help anyone in need. Her greatest devotion was to her daughter, Cindy, and to the special needs community that became such an important part of her life. She dedicated countless hours volunteering with the Handicap Athletic Program (H.A.P.) and Opportunity Builders, Inc. (O.B.I.), where she touched the lives of many individuals and families through her selfless service and unwavering support.

She also had a lifelong passion for bowling. Over the years, she participated in numerous bowling leagues and served as a league secretary. For more than 40 years, she organized and coordinated groups of over 50 women who traveled annually to compete in the Women’s National Bowling Tournament. Through her leadership and dedication, she fostered friendships and created cherished memories for generations of bowlers.

She will be remembered for her warm heart, her generous spirit, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched with her kindness and service.

She is survived by her son, Jason Rankin; her daughter, Cindy Rankin; her brother-in-law, Bob Rankin; and her niece and nephew, Kim Rankin and Zip Rankin.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by many loved ones who welcomed her into eternal peace.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life and share memories of the remarkable woman she was. Her family takes comfort in knowing that her love, compassion, and dedication to others will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the family owned and operated MCCULLY POLYNIAK & COLLINS FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Monday, June 29, 2026, 2:00 to 4:00 pm. A Memorial Service will begin on Monday at 4:00 pm
