Mark Vetock

March 12, 1992 – July 1, 2019 (AGE 27)

Mark Alexander Vetock, age 27, passed away on July 1, 2019 as a result of a tragic boating accident on the Patapsco River near Riviera Beach, MD.  Mark or “Vetock” as his friends called him, was born on March 12, 1992 in Annapolis, MD to Wayne Joseph Vetock and Georgette Vetock (Chuhran).

Mark grew up in Pasadena where he graduated from St. Jane Frances School in 2006 and Northeast High School in 2010.  Growing up, he loved roller coasters and worked multiple summers at Cedar Point Amusement Park, where he would later make many road trips and visit his godparents Aunt Peachy (Diane Lehman) and Uncle Steve (Lehman).  He also graduated from The Walt Disney College Program.  Mark worked for Amtrak the last three years, first as an assistant conductor and then a conductor.  He couldn’t wait to become an engineer and was scheduled to interview for engineer trainee within a week of his passing.

He was an avid Orioles fan, but his true passion was for the Baltimore Ravens.  He had just purchased season tickets for the upcoming season.  Mark once went to the Ravens training camp and told Brian Billick, “My Dad doesn’t like you, but I think you’re a good coach,” and then asked, “Are you going to lead us to a championship this year?”  He loved his bowling and pool leagues, but his favorite pastimes were driving his beloved 2017 Ford Mustang GT, boating, riding dirt bikes, and hanging out in “The Dena” with his wife and friends telling “Dad jokes.”

Mark is a newlywed as of May 3rd.  He is survived by his wife Lindsey Leigh Vetock (Haag); father and mother, Wayne Vetock and Georgette Vetock (Chuhran) of Severn, Maryland; siblings Jessica O’Donnell (Vetock) and her husband Brenan O’Donnell of Duncansville, Pennsylvania, and Lauren Vetock of Annapolis, Maryland; survived by his maternal grandparents, Sam Chuhran and Norma Chuhran (Michaels) of Northern Cambria, Pennsylvania; preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph Vetock and Hilda Vetock (Strittmatter); and survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many loving friends.

Relatives and friends are invited gather at the family owned and operated McCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 3204 Mountain Road, Pasadena on Friday July 12th from 3 PM to 5 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM.  A funeral mass and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 13th at 11 AM at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 801 Stevenson Road, Severn.
