Michael Haynes

Michael "Mike" Haynes, 31 of Pasadena passed away peacefully at his home on March 15, 2018. Mike was born on February 3, 1987 in Long Branch, New Jersey however; lived in Pasadena since 1992. He was preceded in death by his father, Sergeant First Class Samuel L. Haynes and grandparents Fannie and Hazor Haynes of Texas. He is survived by his loving mother Debra Haynes of Pasadena and brothers Nicholas M. Haynes of Pennsylvania and Christopher Lee Haynes of Pasadena, beloved grandparents Shirley and Charlie Lucas, uncles James L. Allen and GMichael Duregger of Indiana, niece and nephew Rilyn and Hunter Haynes of Pennsylvania, nephew Isaiah Lee Haynes of Pasadena, several aunts, uncles and cousins from Texas, and several cousins from Indiana. He attended Jacobsville Elementary school where he achieved two Presidential and one National Physical Fitness awards. He graduated from Chesapeake High School where he was the second student in the history of the school to achieve the 1,000 point basketball. Mike was extremely gifted in athletics and all sports but chose to pursue the Arts. He studied Digital Filmmaking for three years at the Art Institute of Charlotte, North Carolina where he devoted his efforts in aspiring to be a writer/screenwriter/director. Mike wrote several short stories, journals and a screenplay. He recently worked as a Chef at several restaurants and various part time jobs. Mike placed his career/school pursuits temporarily on hold to care for his ailing mother. His hobbies included; collecting vintage vinyl records, comic books and posters, Chicago Bears sports wear (His favorite football team), Ken Griffey Jr., memorabilia, old movies like Alfred Hitchcock and Vincent Price. He enjoyed watching movies and breaking down the sequence of process from an artists' point of view. He enjoyed fishing, hanging out with his friends and especially eating crabs. Mike will be remembered for his caring nature and kind heart for his family, friends and all who come in contact with him. He was so precious to his family with his positive and easy going attitude for life and willingness to lend a helping hand. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The family will receive visitors at McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home at 3204 Mountain Road in Pasadena on Monday, March 26, 2018 with viewing from 3:00 to 5:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm with a service at 7:30 pm by the Reverend John Taylor. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the charity of your choice.
