Michael James Herpel, Sr. beloved husband of the late Nancy Herpel, devoted father of Michael James Herpel, Jr. dear stepfather of James Wesley Branham and Melvin S. Branhan, Jr. dear brother of Barbara Herpel and the late Charles William Herpel, III, loving grandfather of Joshua Branham, Christian Branham, Faith Branham and Chase Branham.
Michael was born in Baltimore Maryland on August 3, 1952 to Charles William Herpel, Jr and Clara Elizabeth Herpel and died in the Baltimore Washington Medical Center on November 21 , 2018. A graduate of North East High School in 1970, Mike became a Police Officer for Baltimore City from November 5, 1973 - June 30, 1983. He enjoyed watching the Colts until they left Baltimore. He then became a Chicago Bears fan as well as a Cubbies fan. He grew up in Greenhaven, loved to bowl and watch the TV show COPS. He worked part time as a cab driver where he enjoyed chatting with people. He loved to laugh , tell a good joke and enjoyed fishing. His favorite quote was, "If I'm not making you laugh I'm not doing my job”. He always had a corny joke ready because he was so quick witted. Mike was a dedicated family man, loved spending time with his grandchildren and friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, at which time a Memorial service will be held.
