Michael “Mike” Philip Tacka, 69, of Pasadena, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026. Born on January 22, 1957, to the late James Tacka and Mary “Betty” Tacka, Mike grew up in Linthicum and attended St. Philip Neri School and Andover High School. His love for his hometown was evident, as it was a place where he developed many cherished life-long friendships.

Mike lived a life defined by dedication, craftsmanship, music, and deep love for his family. For 41 years, he was the devoted husband of Patricia Tacka, with whom he built a life filled with warmth, humor, and unwavering partnership. He was the proud and loving father of Tricia Jackson and her husband, Cody Jackson, and the adoring grandfather of his beloved granddaughter, Ava Jackson, who brought him endless joy. Mike and Ava shared an incredible bond, and he cherished being her Pop Pop.

He is also survived by his uncle, Richard Davis, many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews, beloved friends, his sisters-in-law, Mary Wallace and Sue Loveridge, and brother-in-law John Wallace. He is preceded in death by his late brother-in-law Bruce Wallace. Although he was an only child, he considered them his sisters and brothers.

Mike spent his career as a skilled woodworker and cabinet maker for the State of Maryland, where his meticulous craftsmanship and pride in his work left a lasting impression. Outside his profession, he was a passionate drummer whose rhythm and energy were felt by all who heard him play. He found peace and happiness hiking through the woods, spending quiet mornings crabbing, and enjoying the simple pleasure of fresh oysters.

Mike's friends and family will remember him for his steady kindness, easy laugh, and generous spirit. His life touched many, and his memory will continue to do so. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
