Nancy B Machia

Nancy Carroll Machia (Ellison), 77, passed away surrounded by family at her home in Pasadena, Maryland on December 11, 2023, after a battle with Cancer.

Born in Beards Fork, West Virginia, the daughter of a coal miner, the late Earl and Ethel (Dunn) Ellison. She loved her family and learning of her family heritage and history spending many hours researching and sharing their genealogy.

Married to her husband of 35 years, William James Machia.

William introduced her to amateur radio. Nancy earned her technician class license and proudly chose the call sign N3IMD. Using this knowledge, she managed several Radio Shack locations where she made many great friendships lasting after her retirement. After moving to their waterfront home in Pasadena, Nancy looked forward to hosting friends and family for an annual fourth of July celebration. In addition, she enjoyed crocheting, each year she would make between 150-200 infant and adult hats to donate to Bel Air United Methodist Church’s Toy Ministry.

Survived by her two daughters, Laura McJilton (Patrick) and Jennifer Lauer. Proud Nana to 4 grandchildren William Reichert, Gabrielle Spade, Samuel McJilton and Mikayla McJilton . Loving sister to Edwin Skeens, Janet ”Kay” Hoover (William), Drema O’Brien (Edward), Terry Ellison (Donna) Curtis Ellison (Linda). Special friend Jarrett Joyce. And her ever loyal and watchful dog Rollo. Dear Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her son William Allan Spade, Brother Joseph Skeens and his wife Shelby, Sister-in-Law Joy Skeens

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the family owned and operated MCCULLY POLYNIAK & COLLINS FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Sunday, December 17, 2023, from 1:00 to 2:30 at which time a Memorial service will be held.
