Paul Raymond Fields, II, 76, of Orchard Beach, Maryland, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.

Paul was a loving, caring, and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Peggy Fields; his daughter Lisa (Elliot); his son Chad (Nicole); and his cherished grandchildren Tyler, Zach, Cassie, Liam, Amy, and Tony. His siblings, Shelly (Jeff) McDowell, Gail (David) DeShazo, Pat (Ed) Lucich, Jim (Barbara) Fields and Steve (the late Diane) Fields.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Marge Fields; his in-laws, Jim and Betty Gosnell; and his beloved grandchildren, Destiny and Richie.

Paul proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard as a scuba diver. He later dedicated his career to public service as an Engineman and scuba diver with the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, where he eventually retired. Following his time in the fire service, Paul continued working as a truck driver before fully retiring.

Family meant everything to Paul. He especially loved taking his grandchildren out for ice cream and spending time traveling with his family. Paul enjoyed riding his motorcycle with IAFF Motorcycle Group 1563, camping, scuba diving, and reading or watching science fiction books and shows. Over the years, he and Peggy traveled to many places around the world, spent several winters as snowbirds, and even drove across the country together—adventures that created lasting memories.

Donations may be made in Paul’s memory to IAFF Motorcycle Group 1563, for their annual fundraiser Greg’s Ride, a cause close to Paul’s heart that benefits the Anne Arundel County Professional Fire Fighters Charitable Foundation IAFF 1563 MG Firemark Building 8684 Veterans Hwy Millersville, MD 21108.
