Robert Lee Kelm, III

March 20, 1972 — October 7, 2023

Robert Lee Kelm III was born on March 20, 1972 in Baltimore MD to Robert Lee Kelm Jr. and Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Kelm (nee Kerner). He passed away on October 7, 2023 after ten years with stage 4 cancer. He was raised in Pasadena, MD and was a 1990 graduate of Northeast high school. Subsequently, he received two degrees from the University of Baltimore – a BS in Financial Management in 1998 and a MS in Information Systems in 2002.  He worked for over 20 years at Tower Federal Credit Union where he held several positions including supervisor of both the Information Technology Operations and Software Services departments. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Desiree M. Cruise Ochs and Susan Cruise Arnold. Rob is survived by wife Kellie, sons Brody and Carson, sister Betty Ann McNelly and her husband George, brother Paul M. Kelm and his wife Barbara and nieces and nephews: George McNelly (Jeanine), Steve McNelly (Beth), Angela Alexander (Ron), Kim Wise (Brian), Ronald Metzger Jr., Paul Kelm (Kristina) and Lauren Askew (Tyler) and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Rob was universally known for his kindness. For a quiet guy he made friends wherever he went. He had enduring friendships from all phases of his life – especially from his time at St. Jane Frances School, Lauer’s grocery store, Mount Saint Joseph and Northeast High Schools. In his younger years, he loved playing basketball and beach volleyball. After having kids, Rob became a self-made youth pitching coach and loved nothing more than watching his boys play ball or having long discussions with them about life during the car ride to a practice or game.

Rob loved the Orioles (especially Eddie Murray) and the Ravens, and all things SciFi, especially Star Wars, Star Trek, X-files and Marvel and sometimes subjected his family to older Godzilla and Bruce Lee movies. He thought there was no such thing as bad pizza but his one fault was, he didn’t like chocolate. His favorite holiday was Thanksgiving – both because it was his favorite meal of the year and for togetherness with family. Rob will truly be missed by all who met him. May all friends and family hold dear to great memories of him.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the family owned and operated MCCULLY POLYNIAK & COLLINS FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Monday, October 16, 2023, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm.
