A great man is gone. Ronnie Dove of Pasadena, Maryland passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at home with his beloved wife, Marty, by his side. In addition to Marty, Ronnie is survived by his children: Michael, Ronnie Jr., Wayne, Don, Kelli and Kimmi; 5 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Ronnie was born on September 7, 1935, in Herndon, Virginia to Paul and Catherine Dove both deceased. He had an older sister, Marjorie, also deceased.
He loved golf but had not been able to play in several years but enjoyed watching it on television. And he loved his poker.
Ronnie served in the Coast Guard for 4 years and was in the United States Coast Guard Reserves. During Ronnie's stint in the Coast Guard, he began his singing career in the clubs of Baltimore, where he was stationed. He formed a group, The Bell Tones, and they played Baltimore and the East Coast. He went on to produce 23 consecutive hits, charted Top 10 records and packed venues throughout North American and Canada.
Ronnie lived to entertain. He was a model stage performer. Combined with his charismatic charm and personality, his passion and enthusiasm never faltered, and his public appeal never dimmed. Ronnie Dove was truly a good soul. He loved everyone and everyone loved him. He entertained millions in his almost 70-year career.
May the memory of Ronnie Dove be a blessing to all who had the honor and privilege to know and love him. Ronnie left us with deep, enduring friendships, funny and incredible stories and his amazing musical legacy.
There will be no viewing. Ronnie will be cremated. There will be a Celebration of Life later.
