Ronald Leo Smith, Sr.

Ronald Leo Smith Sr., age 72, of Pasadena, MD, passed away on September 24, 2025. He was born on January 8, 1953, in Baltimore, MD, the seventh child of the late Edna Mae and Charles W Smith. Ronnie is survived by his wife Christine of 47 years, devoted father of daughters Cathy Shiflett and husband Buddy, Casey Welch and husband Ben, Crystal Snively and husband Kevin, and son Ronnie Smith and wife Renee. His most favorite title of Pop-Pop to Colby Snively, Justin Shiflett, Chloe Welch, Cooper Welch, Karlie Snively, Bailey Shiflett, Kiersten Snively, Emma Smith and Paige Smith.

Ronnie lived in Pasadena for 38 years but home for him was Irvington, MD. He attended St. Joseph’s Monastery and Mount St. Joseph High School. He was the youngest of seven children and was proceeded in death by siblings Lorraine, Butch, Arlene, Johnny, Frank and Ticket.

He treasured family more than anything else and instilled the importance of this with his children. He loved being a Dad and Grandfather more than anything else. He did enjoy the occasional beer at Picantillo and Don Pancho where he seemed to know everybody and most times he did. When home he watched the hometown sports teams, old war movies and westerns and his favorite movie Yankee Doodle Dandy.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the family owned and operated MCCULLY POLYNIAK & COLLINS FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Monday, September 29, 2025, 5:00 to 8:00 pm A Memorial service will be held at 8:00 pm.
