On the evening of 12/27/2025 Ruth Wilson Marlow departed this world during her sleep.
Ruth was the baby girl born to John and Lula Wilson in Sumter, South Carolina on March 11, 1928. She had 12 siblings; Benjamin, Luke, Stokes, David, Osbourne, Clarence, Almott, Mac, John William, Council, Annie Dale, and Mamie who all preceded her in death leaving Ruth the last of 13 kids. Her family settled in Wilson, North Carolina (1108 Queen Street) where she enjoyed her childhood.
Ruth came to Baltimore, Maryland at the tender age of 16 and years later met Lindsay Marlow of Calabash, North Carolina. They were married September 14, 1946. From this union was a happy family of four kids. Ruby, John, Collins, and Michelle. They made their home on Chestnut Street in Turners Station, Maryland. for many years before building a loving home in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Husband Lindsay Marlow and son Collins Marlow preceded her in death.
Ruth received her education in Wilson, North Carolina where she drove a bus and tractor trailer. She was employed at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland beginning as a Supervisor in Housekeeping and became a Radiologist Tech until her retirement after thirty -three years of service. After retirement she served as a crossing guard for the schools and a home health aide for the home bound.
Ruth was outspoken, funny and lively. Witt and her ability to strike up a conversation with people she didn’t know was her strong point. She loved people and loved to give suggestions & advice. Ruth had a passion for crocheting. It was nothing for her to crochet a hat or make a blanket for someone she cared about. She loved her grandchildren deeply and showed her love for family simply by always being present. Ruth enjoyed helping at several local pantries in the Glen Burnie area.
Ruth leaves to mourn her daughter Ruby Mohead, son John Marlow and daughter Michelle Marlow. Five grandchildren Tonya Hazel, Tara Marlow, Carlos Marlow, Roshonda Tooles and Tonika Ali. Ten Great Grandchildren, Dajuan Marlow (preceded Ruth in death), Latonya Gaylord, Taron McCargo, Daisha Tooles, Darrin Tooles, Davone Marlow, Carlisha Chambers, Mykel Marlow, Taylor Marlow and Antonio Marlow. Several great greatgrandchildren including two sets of twins, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.
The Marlow family send their sincerest thanks to everyone for their support and consideration at this important time in our lives.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the family owned and operated MCCULLY POLYNIAK & COLLINS FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Thursday, January 8, 2026, 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Where funeral services will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 12:45 pm. Interment Crownsville Veterans Cemetery.
