Sherry Lee Russell-Cranford

Sherry Russell-Cranford was born on May 6th, 1961, in Baltimore, MD to her parents Tommy and Patricia Russell. She graduated from Chesapeake High School in 1979 where she was involved in cheerleading, student government, and many other clubs, and went on to earn an accelerated degree in Linguistics from the National Security Agency. Sherry later pursued her passion for teaching with positions at both Lake Shore Christian School and Arnold Christian Academy, eventually stepping away from her career to focus on raising her two children.

Sherry always had a joyful and positive outlook on life. She was outgoing and talkative and loved to meet new people, forging meaningful relationships with everyone who her life touched. She had a big personality and an even bigger heart. While Sherry was well-versed in over five different languages, she was most fluent in love. She is survived by her son Joshua, daughter Sarah, and granddaughter Diana.

From Sarah - My mother was a natural born leader and a fabulous teacher. Her patience and understanding combined with her love for my brother and I created a warm and nurturing environment where we learned so much about life and love. Her cheerfulness was contagious, as was her laugh. Wherever we went, mom seemed to run into someone she knew. She was always ready and willing to strike up a conversation and put a smile on someone's face. I will personally very much miss my daily conversations with her and hearing her sing. I will be sure my daughter Diana grows up knowing how much she was loved by her Nana. PS you are my sunshine.

From Josh - I always knew that my mom loved me with all of her heart and would have given anything for me. I hope that I've made her proud with the kind of person I turned out to be. I will always remember her cheerful laugh and positive demeanor. She had great faith which kept her strong even in difficult times. As much as I was not ready for her to go and will miss her dearly, she is in a better place now. I love you, mom.

Sherry will be buried along with her mother and father at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Baltimore, MD.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the family owned and operated MCCULLY POLYNIAK & COLLINS FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Thursday, January 22, 2026, 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Where funeral services will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 10:00 am. Interment Cedar Hill Cemetery.
