Simon Odoh, aged 80, peacefully passed away on 20th December in Pasadena, Maryland. Today, we celebrate a man whose life was defined by generosity, strength of character, and the unmistakable presence of a true father figure.
To many, Simon was more than a husband, father, or grandfather, he was a pillar. Whether to his immediate family, extended relatives, or anyone who crossed his path, he offered guidance, support, and wise counsel. His door was always open, his words steady and sincere, and his discipline always rooted in love. People gravitated toward him because he had the rare ability to correct without breaking, to lead without forcing, and to care without condition.
He shared his life with his devoted wife, Mercy Odoh, and together they built a home known for warmth, faith, and stability. Their children Chiemeka, Azubuike, Ifeoma, and Gozie grew under a father who led by example: firm when needed, nurturing always, and relentlessly committed to their growth. His grandchildren Jaiden, Madison, and Anaya brought him tremendous joy and renewed energy in his later years.
Simon’s generosity extended far beyond family. He was the kind of man who helped without being asked, supported without seeking praise, and gave quietly but abundantly. Many people, both within and outside the family, found direction, courage, and opportunity through his kindness.
Professionally, Simon made his mark as Sales Managing Director at Berger Paints, where he guided teams with a blend of discipline, empathy, and unwavering standards. Colleagues often spoke of him as a mentor, someone who elevated others simply by believing in them and expecting their best.
A devout Catholic, Simon lived his faith through action: service, love, responsibility, and humility. His life reminds us that true greatness lies not in titles or possessions, but in the lives we enrich along the way.
At 80 years, Simon leaves behind a legacy of fatherhood, generosity, and purposeful living. His impact spans continents, generations, and countless hearts. We are grateful not just that he lived, but that he lived in a way that shaped so many.
