Steven Douglas Fowler

June 6, 1950 — October 24, 2025

Steven Douglas Fowler, 75, of Pasadena, MD, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Steve was born on June 6, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois. After graduating from Plainfield High School in 1968, he went on to serve in the U.S. Navy as Musician First Class for 20 years.

Steve married the love of his life, Kathy, on June 10, 1972 and had two children (Pam and Steve), of whom he was so proud.

In 1975, Steve and Kathy started Fowler Music Service, an instrument repair shop. Together, they ran a successful repair and rental business until 2012, when they opened an embroidery shop with their son. Steve found joy in learning new things – from boating and fishing to creating a “smart home” and participating in HAM radio contests. He also took pride in being “Mr. Fix It”, helping family and friends with any and all projects. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family at their weekly Sunday dinners.

Steve is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathy Fowler; his beloved dog, Lucy; his daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Chris Sexton; his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Jamie Fowler; his granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Lexi and Spencer Blankenship; his grandson, Jonah Sexton; and his siblings, Daniel Fowler and his wife, Roseanne; Judy Fowler, and Patty Houchin and her husband, Kevin. Steve was predeceased by his parents, Elmo and Wilma Fowler; and his sister, Nancy Schlea.

A viewing will take place at the family owned and operated McCully Polyniak & Collins Funeral Home, P.A. on Wednesday, October 29th, from 4-7 p.m. Services will be held at Pasadena United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 30th, at 10 a.m. with a brief viewing at 9:30 a.m. Following the service, a small ceremony will be held at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
