In Loving Memory of Thomas Edward Thompson “Tommy”…
Tommy, born 10/26/1942, age 79 passed away from complications of Covid on January 25. He was a local resident of Glen Burnie for 50 years where he resided with his loving wife- Gloria Lee Thompson (nee Grover), and raised his two daughters, Lisa Lynn Ford and Lori Anne Jarvis. Tommy had grown up in Baltimore and worked for the Buffalo Tank Division of Bethlehem Steel for 27 years as a welder and general foreman. He was proud to be a member of the Baltimore Steelworkers Union. He also had a second career as a realtor and member of the Anne Arundel County Realtor’s Association. He worked for the brokerages of Golden Triangle Realty and Long and Foster Realty. He loved helping families make a new start and continued to sell homes into his retirement years. He never slowed down.
After retirement, he started TETCO sign company with his elder brother , and began renovating and flipping houses. There wasn’t anything Tommy could not do in construction and renovations, as evidenced by the triple sized version of the family homestead.
He had a love of life and made time for fun at the beach in Ocean City, or on the greens golfing with his buddies, crabbing, or gambling at the casinos. But most of all, he is known for his LOVE OF FAMILY! Family was everything to him!! Married to his childhood sweetheart- Gloria since 1962, they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on February 17, 2022.
Tommy is survived by his two loving daughters, Lisa Lynn and Lori Anne, their husbands- Charles “Wayne” Ford and Franklin Paul Jarvis; Five grandchildren- Jeffery Wayne, Steven Mathew and Candice Nicole Ford; Brandon Thomas and Brody Tyler Frank; and Six great-grandchildren- Tanner, Brynleigh, Ethan, Ryanne, Ryder and Leighton. There are also a set of twins en route, due this May !!
He is survived by 2 sisters: Carolyn “Bubbles” and Ramona “Sissy”. He is preceded in death by his sisters: Leona and Adamae, and his brothers: Johnny, Charlie, Robbie, Ritchie “Al”, Raymond “Chuck”, Billy, Dennis “Doodle” and George; and his parents Laura Leona Russell of Saint Mary City and George John Thompson of Baltimore.
