Vera Kane

October 4, 1942 — August 7, 2018

Vera Marie Kane (nee Belt) age 75 passed away on August 7, 2018 with her beloved husband of 57 years, Ron Kane by her side. She will be missed by her daughter Kelly Krinetz and her husband Oren; her son Ron and his wife Kathy; her brother Wilbur (Sonny) Belt, his wife Brenda and his children and grandchildren; and her sister Mary Dovel. She leaves behind her grandchildren Ronny, Mikayla, Skyler and Jesse, whom she adored, to carry on her spirit and make her proud. Affectionately known as "Ms. Vera" by many in the 'dena, she will be remembered for her love and support by her Rink Family.

Vera was the eldest daughter of Mamie (Mary) and Biggie (Wilbur) Belt.  She grew up in Locust Point with her siblings and had strong family ties to Pasadena as outlined in the books Between Two Rivers and The Pasadena Penninsula.

She and Ron where married on November 4 at the Magothy Chelsea Community Church and settled in the 'dena to raise their children and become active members of the community.  Throughout the years she could be found volunteering at Lake Shore Elementary, Bayview Middle and Chesapeake High School or supporting whatever other activity her kids were involved in.

In 1974 she started working at the Rink where she became a permanent fixture.  Her impact on generations of skaters is outlined by the loving entries that have been shared on the Facebook page "My Favorite Ms Vera Memories

Her most important role however, was that of Mommom. The values, traditions and memories that she instilled in her grandchildren will stay in their hearts always. She was more than just their Mommom; she was their friend, their biggest fan, and their role model.
