William "Bill" I. Hart, Jr.

December 7, 1944 — June 12, 2023

William I. Hart, Jr. "Bill" of Pasadena, MD passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was a devoted husband of 57 years to Virginia "Ann" Hart, father of two sons, Kevin "Shane" Hart and Ryan T. Hart; the light of his life, his granddaughter Kelsey L. Rodriguez and her husband D. J. Rodriguez, "Pop-Pop" to two precious great grandchildren Lucas and Lyla Rodriguez.

Bill is also survived by his loving sister Jean Whitcomb of Hampton, NH, his brother Brian Hart of Denton, MD, and is preceded in death by his sister Judith Bergeron of Hampton, NH. Bill is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Bill was drafted in the Army in 1966 and served a one-year tour of duty in Vietnam. In 2010 he retired after spending 35 years as a crane operator for the U.S. Coast Guard Yard in Curtis Bay, MD

He thoroughly enjoyed retirement and loved traveling.

Bill was a self-taught skilled knifemaker, forging his own blades and designing his own knife handles. In the past he received his Journeyman Smith rating from the American Bladesmith Society. He loved passing on his knife making skills to all who wanted to learn.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the family operated MCCULLY POLYNIAK & COLLINS FUNERAL HOME 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 11am to 1 pm at which time funeral services will be held. Interment Crownsville Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Hospice of the Chesapeake hospicechesapeake.org or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital stjude.org
