William "Bill" Bonenberger

William J. Bonenberger passed away suddenly on January 8, 2020, just before his 52nd birthday.  He is survived by his wife, Jamie, brother, Robert (Saifa) Bonenberger, Jr., and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.  Bill was born on January 15, 1968 in Baltimore, Maryland, to Robert Bonenberger, Sr. and Anna (Scholtes) Bonenberger.  He was a Baltimore Polytechnic Institute graduate, and earned a degree in mechanical engineering at University of Maryland, Baltimore County.  He attained his Professional Engineering license in 2004. He was a lifelong employee of the United States Army Corps of Engineers, first as a marine surveyor, for many years as a mechanical engineer, and most recently, as the Building Information Modeling manager.  He was an independent, “do-it-yourselfer” who enjoyed forestry, and maintained a small woods.  He enjoyed many hours playing his favorite video games, and playing guitar.  He was a great friend, who loved to use his expertise to help his family and friends with their projects.  He was a Baltimore Ravens fan from the time they started in Baltimore, and was looking forward to their Superbowl win this year!
