Obituary

Allen Milton Olson of Pasadena, Maryland was a beloved grandfather, father, husband, brother and Staff Sergeant during his incredible 90 years of life. He passed away peacefully with family by his side Friday April 1, 2022.  Allen was born August 4, 1931, in Crookston, MN the oldest of four sons to the deceased Obert and Pearl (Mickelson) Olson.

After graduating high school, Allen joined the Air Force where he served with honor in the Korean War.  While stationed in New Jersey he met his life partner of 66 years, Eleanor Thomasina (Benedict) Olson. Allen went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota with a degree in electrical engineering and began his long career with Westinghouse on high security clearance, submersible technologies. On the side, Allen was devoted to his community where he served as a real estate agent with Long and Foster and active member of the Galilee Lutheran Church community.

Allen had a true love and respect for the outdoors that started at a very young age, from helping on his family farm to fishing with his father. His passion carried through the years with annual family trips to Minnesota, fishing rod in hand, and a home of more than 60 years on the Magothy River. He was a man filled with optimism, kindness, humor, an insatiable appetite for learning, and devotion to family and God. He was a bright spark in the world and will be deeply missed.
