Obituary

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and sister, CAROL ANN DODD, age 86 of Pasadena, Maryland, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 13th, 2020. Carol was daughter of the late Thomas Mack Franzoni and Lillian Regina Franzoni (Schaefer). Carol was born on December 18, 1933 in Baltimore, Maryland. She is survived by her devoted husband John Thomas Dodd, Sr. She celebrated sixty-nine beautiful years of marriage with her soulmate, John whom she met at seventeen years old. John and Carol were inseparable, best friends and shared a life only rivaled by storybook romance.

Carol enjoyed horseback riding, raising cockatiels, feeding wildlife, traveling and in her late years making memories with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carol was the matriarch of her family and devoted countless hours to creating memorable elaborate holiday gatherings, especially during Christmas. In years past, Carol enjoyed baking, cooking, and spending time with her friends. Carol will be remembered as the truest of souls, always genuine, honest, trustworthy and gracious. Carol treated all people and animals with genuine kindness, greeted everyone with a hug and beautiful smile.

Carol was a loving Mother to her daughter Susan Dodd and her son John Thomas Dodd, Jr. and his wife Barbara Dodd. She will be remembered as “Granny” and is survived by her grandchildren John Thomas Dodd, III and his wife, Stacy Dodd; Michael Glenn Dodd and his wife Melissa Dodd; and her granddaughter Jeanne Marie Keller (Dodd) and her husband Josh Keller. . She is remembered by her great grandchildren, Austin Dodd, Delyla Dodd, John Thomas “JT” Dodd, IV and Khloe Keller. Carol is survived by her brother James “Jim” H. Franzoni and preceded in death by her late brother Thomas H. Franzoni. She is also survived by her nephew James “Jimmy” A. Franzoni and his wife Cynthia Franzoni; and their children. She is preceded in death by her grandson Gregory Allan Dodd.

A private service and prayer were held for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue in Mt. Airy, Maryland (link provided below)
