Dawn Fischer

Dawn Marie (Rothe) Fischer, age 73 passed away peacefully in the early morning of December 28, 2021, with her loving and devoted husband George by her side; on January 21st they would have celebrated 55yrs of marriage.
Dawn was born and raised in Dundalk Maryland by her parents Gertrude Marie (Prion) and David Joseph Rothe.  She graduated from Dundalk High in 1966 and worked at NSA before beginning her family.  In the early 80s she became an in-home licensed daycare provider for over 15yrs and was affectionately known as Grammy Dawn by all. Her chosen career of the time enabled her to care for her grandchildren.  In her later years she went back to her office roots and became a secretary/receptionist & bookkeeper. Most recently she reopened her daycare to help care for her great grandson Carson Dean.
As a devoted mother she was very active within her daughters' school; holding office in the PTA from Elementary to High school as well as County - State and National Levels earning many awards most notably were: State Department of Education Outstanding Volunteer - AACO School Board Silver Tray as well as earning a Lifetime Membership to the Maryland State and National PTAs.  After the girls graduated Dawn put her energies into her church community and was a founding member of the Ladies of the Knights of Columbus Council #10966, where her and George became very active members of the St Jane Francis Community.  Dawn will always be remembered for her generous and giving heart and willingness to help those in need.  In addition to her church friends and family she was adopted into the OLH Club who are childhood friends and schoolmates of George. As a group they would have holiday parties and go on summer vacations together.  The ladies would have shopping days, monthly lunches - pool days along with card games and dominos.
Dawn is survived by her husband of almost 55yrs George and her two daughters Catherine Marie (Bob Vincent) and Theresa Dawn (Bryan Haynie). Grandchildren Caitlyn Marie (Randall Dean Mertz), Annastasia Lynn, Bryan Jason Jr. and Samantha Lauren; Katrina and Zachary (Vincent) Great Grandson(s) Carson Dean and soon to be Henry Crew. Brother Dale Joseph (Rose), Sister Dana Louise (Eric), sister-in-law Paula Sue (Dennis) and Cousin/BFF/Matchmaker Carolyn Ann along with numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.  She is preceded in death by her loving Parents Dave and Trudy and brothers David and Dennis.
Family and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated MCCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road Pasadena on Thursday 3-5 and 7-9pm (Rosary by K of C #10966 at 7:30pm). A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated in St Jane Frances Church 8499 Virginia Ave Pasadena on Friday at 9:30am. Interment Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
