Dominick Cucina

May 14, 1949 — May 15, 2022

Dominick Thomas Cucina Sr. (Nick) passed away peacefully on May 15th,2022 after a long battle with kidney disease and other health issues. He was 73 years old. Our thanks go out to Baltimore Washington Medical Center and Hospice of the Chesapeake for the care & comfort he received in these last few weeks.

He is survived by his wife Lisa Cucina, son Brian Cucina, Daughter Kelsie Cucina, and his brother Steven Cucina. Also, his grandchildren, Dominick, David, Haley, Landon, and Lincoln. He is preceded in death by his parents Edward T. Cucina Sr. and Mary Cucina, his brothers Edward Cucina and William Cucina, and his son Dominick T. Cucina Jr.

Nick was born in Baltimore on May 14th,1949. The Cucina family soon moved to Severna Park where he grew up enjoying little league baseball, fishing, hunting, and crabbing. When he was 12 years old, he pitched a no-hitter that made it into the local paper. As a teenager he sold crabs he caught and worked as a lifeguard to make money. He graduated from Severna Park High School.

He started his career as a dispatcher then moved into driving large tractor trailers. He would eventually move into the metals business where he worked for Edgecomb steel, C.S Metals, and BMG Metals. He worked as a warehouse manager in the metals business for over 35 years until his retirement in 2012.

Throughout his life he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also spent his time crabbing, boating, playing cards, and watching sports. He liked to take rides in his truck and sitting out on the deck to relax.

The family would like you to know there is no service at this time. We will have a celebration of Nick’s life with family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make a donation in Nick’s honor to the Trey Mancini Foundation for Colorectal Cancer. Trey Mancini was one of Nick’s favorite Baseball players and colorectal cancer is one of the many things Nick conquered during his lifetime.
